At WatchGuard, our primary goal is your security. To align with industry best practices for security and data integrity, WatchGuard requires all customers to upgrade to TLS 1.2 by September 2019. In September, we will begin to disable the TLS 1.1 encryption protocol, which will prevent customers still using TLS 1.1 from logging into www.watchguard.com for all services, including activations, feature key retrieval, support case submission, etc.
Why is WatchGuard making this change?
WatchGuard is focused on helping our customers improve their security by using the latest and most up to date security protocols. Upgrading to TLS 1.2 encryption protocol will maintain the highest security standards and promote the safety of customer data.
What actions you should take?
Make sure all connections to WatchGuard.com are compatible with TLS 1.2 before September 2019. After we disable TLS 1.1 encryption protocol, connections made to www.watchguard.com that use TLS 1.1 will fail.
