 Out of Shared Memory Error with Dimension Reports

When you try to generate, schedule, or export log data or reports that span a time range with a lot of data, the task may fail. You will see the following error in the Log Server logs:
OperationalError: out of shared memory
HINT:  You might need to increase max_locks_per_transaction

You can find this error in Server Management/Diagnostics/Log Messages/Log Server. For more information, see Dimension Server Diagnostics.


There are two options to solve this issue:
  1. Contact WatchGuard Technical Support to tune your Dimension database.
  2. Move to an external PostgreSQL database. For more information, see Configure the Database Location.
